The Montgomery Cricket Club was founded in 2006. It is made up entirely of amateur cricketers, mostly based in and around Southend, who together form the cricketing equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters. The club motto, "All the gear and no idea", is the clearest indication of the true ability of the gladiators who take to the pitch as and when they aren't busy doing something remotely more exciting..... Think Team Australia without the annoying accents.
The primary function of the club is to play cricket in a good natured, enjoyable and fair manner (despite the combustible mixture of competitive personalities that make up the team) and naturally to enjoy some continental lager thereafter.
On this site you can find up to date details regarding Montgomery Cricket Club's conquests (and the occasional small mention of surprise defeats) along with upcoming fixtures, player profiles and photos to quench your understandable thirst for Montgomery news.
